Experience God For A Lifetime
Our heartbeat at CB KiDS is simple: we want every KiD to experience God for a lifetime. These resources are here to help you bring faith into the everyday moments at home—because parenting is better when we do it together.
At CB KiDS, our heart is for every child to experience God for a lifetime. We know that faith begins in the home, around the dinner table, at bedtime, or even in the carpool line, and you don’t have to do it alone. That’s why we’ve created this space just for you. Here you’ll find weekly family devotionals aligning with our Sunday lessons, a Spotify playlist to fill your home with truth, and other resources to encourage you along the way.
Parenting is better when we do it together, and at CB KiDS we’re with you—cheering you on as you raise KiDS who love and follow Jesus.
Faith at home starts now!
The Month of June
Big Truth:
Jesus came to save all people, and He gives us boldness to share His love with others.
Memory Verse – Romans 1:16
“For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.”
Week of June 14th: Paul & Silas in Prison
Bible Passage: Acts 16:16-40
Big Idea: If we believe in Jesus, we will be saved!
Discussion Questions:
- Toddlers/Preschool: How did Paul and Silas get rescued? Who saves us?
- Early Elementary: Why were Paul and Silas in prison? What did they do while they were there? What question did the jailer ask?
- Preteens: What does this story teach us about trusting God in difficult situations? What happened when the jailer believed?
- Bonus Questions: Why was the jailer’s question so important? Have you asked yourself that question? What is the answer to the jailer’s question? Do you believe that’s true?
Prayer:
"God, thank You that salvation comes through believing in Jesus. Help us to trust You in every situation, even when life is hard. Give us joy like Paul and Silas, and help us to tell others about You. Thank You for saving us and for the hope we have in You. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen."
Family Challenge of the Week:
Take some time to think of and discuss a difficult time you went through. Did you trust God in that situation? If you did, how did it help you? If not, how did that make you feel?
Are there any hard situations you may be going through right now or are coming up? Make a plan of how you can remind yourself of the hope we have in Jesus. Talk about how you can be looking to share God’s love with someone else in that situation, and give God glory when he rescues you from it!
Lastly, think about anyone you may know who is going through a difficult time right now. Make a plan as a family to encourage that person or family with the hope that Jesus gives us!
Week of June 7th: Paul Sees the Light
Bible Passage: Acts 9
Big Idea: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
Discussion Questions:
- Toddlers/Preschool: Who did Jesus come to save? Did Jesus love Paul even when he was doing bad things? Does Jesus love us even when we mess up?
- Early Elementary: What was Saul doing before he met Jesus? What happened to Saul when he met Jesus?
- Preteens: What does Paul's story teach us about grace and forgiveness?
- Bonus Questions: Why is it important to understand that everyone is a sinner in need of Jesus? Although we may not be doing what Saul was doing, what are some things that we might do that we need forgiveness for? How did Paul respond to God’s grace/what did he do after he met Jesus? How can we respond when we believe in Jesus?
Prayer:
"Jesus, thank You for coming into the world to save sinners like us. Thank You that no one is too far from Your love and forgiveness. Help us to turn from our sin and follow You with our whole hearts. Change us to be more like You each day. In Your Name we pray, Amen."
Family Challenge of the Week:
As a family, talk about ways Jesus has changed you (attitudes, actions, choices), or ways you want to ask Jesus to change you. Each person chooses one area where they want to follow Jesus more closely. Talk about what it looks like to follow Jesus (living righteously, serving others, sacrificing for others, sharing the gospel, etc.) Pray for each other in that area. Talk about practical steps you can take like reading your bible and praying. At the end of the week, talk about how you saw God change you, how it felt to follow Jesus, and what challenges you faced.
Parents: if your kids aren’t ready to follow because they have not yet believed, model having this conversation in front of them. Emphasize that your desire to follow Jesus comes from having believed that He is your Savior and receiving His love and grace. That is the first step to following Jesus!
