Our Team

Senior Pastor 

In the beginning there was Barkef...ok, so that's not actually true, but he has been our senior pastor since he planted our church in August 1994. He holds both a masters and doctorate degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary. Barkef and his wife, Susie, both hail from Louisiana and have five children. Barkef spends his time & energy in prayer, teaching and vision casting to create an infectious and God-honoring future for Coppell Bible Fellowship.

Associate Pastor

Before coming to CBF, Steve was on staff with Young Life Ministry for 25 years and was a pastor in Corsicana for 11 years. He and his wife, Marci, have three adult children and two precious grandkids. Steve loves DBU baseball and has been known to work on his sermons while watching them practice.

Associate Pastor of Worship

Brent is the worship pastor at CBF. He is from Nashville, TN and was blessed with a 30-year career as a songwriter, recording artist, and producer before moving to Texas with his wife Laurie in 2010. The Lambs have three adult children and four fabulous grandchildren!

Associate Pastor of Family Ministry

Nathan has lived in a variety of locales but declares Texas his home. He graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2006 with a Master of Christian Education and started his ministry journey as a middle school pastor. He lives in Flower Mound with his wife, Kim, 2 children and an emotionally needy dog.

Associate Director of Adult Ministry

 Sheryl her husband, Martin, are both native Texans, graduates of Texas A&M University, and the parents of three emerging adults. They returned to Texas in 2006, after living in Southern California for over 16 years.  Sheryl’s passion is to encourage women as they grow in their understanding of God’s Word, His great love for them and what it means to experience the blessings of living for the glory of God.

Director of Student Ministry  

Ryan is married to his absolutely amazing wife, Mallory, and they just had their first child, Kinzley Elise. He enjoys playing and watching soccer (¡Hala Madrid!), reading C.S. Lewis and Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and loves listening to & playing music, as well as watching movies. Ryan graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies.

Assistant Worship Leader

Daniel learned the Lord's calling on his life to lead worship at the age of 14. He is self-taught on the guitar and loves to travel. He has worked in 45 of the 50 states which has taught him how to work with many different kinds of people. He enjoys the outdoors, fishing, camping, hiking and is an avid baseball fan.



Roger is a businessman in the Dallas area. Roger and his wife, Joy, have four children.



Carl is a businessman in the Dallas area and is currently serving as the Chairman of the Elder Board. Carl and his wife, Nadine, have three children.



Jason is a businessman in the Dallas area. Jason and his wife, Maura, have three children.



Wes is a businessman in the Dallas area and is our Treasurer. Wes and his wife, Lucinda, have three children.



Lindsay is a businessman in the Dallas area and is currently serving as Secretary of the Elder Board. Lindsay and his wife, Lindsey, have three children.


Deacon of Assimilation

Our Deacon of Assimilation and his team are responsible for assisting those new to CB to get fully assimilated into the CBF church family. They oversee and lead our DISCOVERY classes which provide more information about CBF, introduce the S.H.A.P.E. profile and how to engage at CBF. This team is responsible for following-up with those who've participated in these classes.

Deacon & Deaconess of Benevolence

 Our Deacon & Deaconess of Benevolence and their team are responsible for accommodating benevolence requests and needs from within the CBF church family. When necessary, this team will address significant benevolence requests to the church body from outside the church. They are also responsible for improving CBF's Benevolence Policies.

Deaconess of Connections

 Our Connections Deaconess and her team are responsible for coordinating follow-up with those who visit CBF on a Sunday morning. They are intentional about looking for and engaging with those who seem new to our church and discern what they are seeking in a church home. When appropriate, they will invite visitors to attend our DISCOVERY classes to learn more about CBF, their unique S.H.A.P.E. and how to engage at CBF.

 Our Cross-Cultural Deaconess and her team are responsible for introducing international men and women from our community into the ministries of CBF.

 Our Facilities Deacon and his team are responsible for coordinating any maintenance or improvement requests related to the church building and property.

Deacon of Front Lines

 Our Front Lines Deacon and his team are responsible for recruiting and coordinating teams of volunteers to welcome and assist those attending our Sunday morning worship services. These teams include Ushers, Greeters, Welcome Desk, and Coffee Bar.

 Our Member Care Deacon & Deaconess and their team are responsible for coordinating the care and visitation of those in the CBF church body who are home bound, hospitalized or otherwise incapacitated.

Deaconess of Prayer

 Our Prayer Deaconess and her team are responsible for coordinating the prayer ministries at CBF and organizing CBF prayer events.

Deacon of Safety

 Our Safety Deacon and his team are responsible for coordinating and supervising the "gatekeeper" role at CBF. This includes our Responders and Medical Response Team. This team is responsible for establishing and maintaining CBF's Safety Policies Procedures and conducts safety training for our Front Lines Teams, other CBF Ministry Teams and staff.

Elementary Director

Jenny is originally from East Texas and has called Coppell her home since 2015. She has a background in Early Childhood Education. In her spare time, she and her husband, Rob, enjoy spending time with family and friends and having fun outside with their black lab, Millie.

Early Childhood Director

Margie is a native Texan and is one of CBF's original members. Margie manages all of our wonderful childcare employees and volunteers and ensures they do their best to shepherd and love our children and keep them safe. Margie is wife to Jim and proud mom to their two daughters.


Originally from Roswell, NM, Trish moved to Texas in 1984. She married Rick Wall in 1988 and after 14 years of prayer, they are grateful and blessed to have a daughter, Faith. Trish spent many years in corporate America in the real estate industry. After taking a break from working when Faith was born, she re-entered the workforce as an Assistant Director of the Christian preschool at their previous church. Her desire is to see others grow in intimacy with the Lord and experience His transformational love, faithfulness & provision.

Pastoral Administrative Assistant  

Marla brings organization and order behind the scenes. With experience and expertise from her prior post as an executive in the corporate world, Marla knows how to get things done efficiently and with excellence.

Adult Ministry Assistant & Communications Coordinator

Robyn handles many of the behind-the-scenes tasks for our Adult Ministries and helps keep our entire congregation informed and engaged as part of our Communication Team. She also manages the church's digital directory and assists other ministries when she has a minute or two to spare. She has 2 "kids" named Sebastian & Pyewacket and loves to craft and play around at Theatre Coppell in her spare time.
