At CB KiDS, our heart is for every child to experience God for a lifetime. We know that faith begins in the home, around the dinner table, at bedtime, or even in the carpool line, and you don’t have to do it alone. That’s why we’ve created this space just for you. Here you’ll find weekly family devotionals aligning with our Sunday lessons, a Spotify playlist to fill your home with truth, and other resources to encourage you along the way.
Parenting is better when we do it together, and at CB KiDS we’re with you—cheering you on as you raise KiDS who love and follow Jesus.

The Month of September
In August, we started at the very beginning and over the next two years, our kids will learn how the Biggest Story (the Story of Jesus’ rescue of us) is woven throughout every part of the bible, from beginning to end and everywhere in between. Our hope is to give kids at Coppell Bible the foundational understanding that the whole Bible is about God’s love for us and His rescue plan to save us from sin through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection!
Big Truth:
God always keeps His promises.
Memory Verse – Deuteronomy 7:9
“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.”
Week of September 13th
Bible Passage: Genesis 10-11
Big Idea: Even when we mess things up, God is still faithful.
Discussion Questions:
- Toddlers/Preschool: Do we always make good choices? Does God still love us even when we mess up? Can we trust God to take care of us when we mess things up?
- Early Elementary: What did the people in the story try to do? Why was it wrong? Did the people trust God or themselves more? How did God show that He was still faithful even when people sinned?
- Preteens: What was wrong with building a tower? Did the people want glory for themselves or for God to be glorified? How do you try to get glory instead of giving God the glory? Does God still forgive us even when we mess up? Does God still take care of us even when we mess up? Even though there was still a consequence for their sins, how was God still gracious to them?
Prayer:
"God, we know that we make mistakes and choose our own way instead of trusting You. Thank You that Your love and faithfulness do not change when we fail. Help us to turn back to You when we fail, depend on You, and remember that Your plans are always better than our own. Thank You for being a faithful God. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen."
Family Challenge of the Week: “God Makes Something New” Challenge
Using cups, blocks, LEGOs, or other building materials, work together as a family to build the tallest tower you can.
As you build, talk about how the people in Babel wanted to make themselves great and tried to do things their own way instead of trusting God. We often do the same thing. Kind of like building this tall tower ourselves.
Once your tower is complete, knock it down and stop to observe the mess that was made. Talk about how our sin and selfish choices can make a mess. But remind your family:
“Even when we mess things up, God is still faithful. He can take our mess and make something new.”
Then use the same materials to build something new and different together. As you create, talk about how God is always working, restoring, and caring for His people—even when we fail.
End by thanking God for His faithfulness and asking Him to help your family trust Him instead of trying to do everything on your own.
Week of September 20th
Bible Passage: Genesis 11-13
Big Idea: God takes care of His people in bigger and better ways than we can imagine.
Discussion Questions:
- Toddlers/Preschool: Who always takes care of us? Does God know what’s best for us? Can we trust God to keep His promises?
- Early Elementary: What promises did God make in this story? Did God take care of Abram? How has God taken care of you and your family?
- Preteens: Why do you think it was difficult for Abram to leave everything and follow God? Is it ever difficult for you to trust God? What are some ways God has kept His promises in your life?
Prayer:
"God, thank You for taking care of Your people and for always keeping Your promises. Help us to trust You even when we do not understand Your plans. Remind us that Your ways are better than our own and that You are working for our good. Help our family follow. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen."
Family Challenge for the Week: “Trust the Plan” Challenge
This week, practice trusting God with the things you cannot see.
As a family, create a “God’s Plan” jar. Throughout the week, whenever you notice a way God provides, helps, or answers a prayer, write it down or draw it out on a piece of paper and add it to the jar. Or if there is something you need help trusting God for, write that down too!
At the end of the week, read your notes together and celebrate the ways you saw God taking care of your family. Talk about the ways that you can trust God with the things you aren’t so sure about as well. Remember together all the times that God has taken care of your family!
September 27th
Bible Passage: Genesis 15, 17
Big Idea: God can always be trusted.
Discussion Questions:
- Toddlers/Preschool: Does God always do what He says He will do? What are some of God’s promises? (He’ll always love us, He’ll never leave us, He’ll always take care of us, etc.)
- Early Elementary: How did God show Abraham He was trustworthy? Why was it hard for Abraham to believe God? Did Abraham believe even though it was hard? Do you trust God to keep His promises to you?
- Preteens: What does Abraham’s story teach us about who God is/His character? What are some ways it can be difficult for you to trust God? How can remembering what God has done for you before help you trust Him now?
Prayer:
"God, thank You that You always keep Your promises and that You can always be trusted. Help us to trust that Your timing is good and that You are always working for our good. Thank You for being a faithful God who keeps every promise. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen."
Family Challenge of the Week: “Promise Keeper” Challenge
This week, create a family promise reminder.
Choose one promise from God’s Word that your family wants to remember (for example: God is with us, God cares for us, God hears our prayers, God loves us). Write it down, decorate it together, and put it somewhere your family will see it often.
At the end of the week, talk together about:
- How did we see God’s faithfulness this week when you focused on remembering His promise?
- When was it hard to trust God?
- Did remembering His promise make it easier to trust Him?
