October's Devos:
Week 1: Sin Enters Creation | DEVO 1
Memory Verse: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 NKJV)
Big Idea: Creation is broken, but God still loves us.
Bible Reading — Genesis 3:1–6 (NKJV):
1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” 4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
Devotional:
Adam and Eve lived in a beautiful garden with God, but the serpent tricked them into eating the fruit God said not to eat. This was the very first sin. Sin is when we choose our way instead of God’s way, and it breaks our closeness with Him. But God’s love never stopped—He already had a plan to send Jesus to rescue us.
Discussion Questions:
Interactive Activity:
Give each child a piece of paper. Have them crumple it up (like sin breaking things). Then smooth it out, draw a cross on it, and say: “Jesus makes us new.”
Prayer:
“God, thank You for loving me even when I sin. Thank You for sending Jesus to fix what sin broke. Help me choose to follow You. Amen.”
Wrap-Up (interactive):
Parent: “Does God still love us when we sin?”
KiDS: “Yes—always!”

Week 1: Sin Enters Creation | DEVO 2
Memory Verse: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 NKJV)
Big Idea: Hiding from God.
Bible Reading — Genesis 3:7–9 (NKJV):
7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. 8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
Devotional:
When Adam and Eve sinned, they realized they were naked and felt shame. They tried to hide from God, but God came looking for them. He called out, “Where are you?” Even when we disobey, God doesn’t stop loving us. He wants us close, not far away.
Discussion Questions:
Interactive Activity:
Play a short game of hide-and-seek in your house. Afterward, talk about how God always finds us and never stops loving us.
Prayer:
“God, thank You for loving me even when I mess up. Thank You for coming close instead of leaving me. Help me run to You instead of hiding. Amen.”

Week 1: Sin Enters Creation | DEVO 3
Memory Verse: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 NKJV)
Big Idea: God Covers Our Shame.
Bible Reading — Genesis 3:21 (NKJV):
21 Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
Devotional:
Even though Adam and Eve sinned, God cared for them. He made clothes to cover their shame. This showed His love—He still wanted to provide for them. This points to Jesus, who covers our sin completely by dying on the cross and giving us His righteousness. God doesn’t just cover our shame—He makes us new in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17!)
Discussion Questions:
Interactive Activity:
Take a blanket and wrap it around each child like a hug. Say, “Just like this, God covers us with His love through Jesus.”
Prayer:
“God, thank You that even when I sin, You love me and forgive me. Thank You for covering my shame through Jesus. Help me live close to You every day. Amen.”

Memory Verse: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 NKJV)
Big Idea: God promises rescue through His love.
Bible Reading — John 3:16 (NKJV):
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Devotional:
God didn’t just say He loves us—He showed it! He sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to give us eternal life. That’s the biggest act of love in history. God’s love is not just for “good people,” it’s for everyone who believes.
Discussion Questions:
Interactive Activity:
Cut out paper hearts. Write “God loves me” on each, then decorate them and put them where you’ll see them every day.
Prayer:

September's Devos:
Week 1: God Made The World! | DEVO 1
Memory Verse: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1, NKJV)
Devo 1: God Made Light and Sky
Big Idea: God made the world.
Bible Reading — Genesis 1:1–8 (NKJV)
Devotional:
Close your eyes for a moment. Imagine there’s no sun, no moon, no stars, just darkness everywhere. That’s how the world was before God spoke. Then, with just three words, “Let there be light,” everything changed! Light filled the world, and God said it was good. Just like that, God showed His amazing power. But the story doesn’t stop there, Jesus later told us, “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12). That means the same God who created light wants to bring His light and hope into our hearts.
Interactive Activity:
Turn off all the lights in the room. Wait in the dark for 10 seconds, then have one person flip on a light while everyone shouts, “Let there be light!” Talk about how powerful light is. Even a little bit can chase away darkness.
Questions (pick what fits your kids’ ages):
“God, thank You for creating light and for sending Jesus, the Light of the World. We praise You because Your light always wins over darkness. Each of us is thankful for one thing You made that brings us joy… [go around and let each person share]. Amen.”
Wrap-Up (interactive):

Week 1: God Made The World! | DEVO 2
Big Idea: God Made Land and Plants
Bible Reading — Genesis 1:9–13 (NKJV)
Devotional:
God gathered the waters so that dry land appeared. He called the land “Earth” and the water “Seas.” Then He filled the land with plants, trees, and fruit, everything needed for life. Imagine the very first apple tree sprouting or the first flower blooming! God didn’t make a messy, random world; He made an orderly, beautiful one. And just like He gave seeds the power to grow into something amazing, He designed your life to grow with purpose too. Jesus later said that if we stay close to Him, we’re like branches connected to a healthy vine (John 15:5). We will grow and produce good fruit in our lives.
Interactive Activity:
Give everyone a small seed (or use something like rice or beans). Hold it in your hand and look at how tiny it is. Talk about how God designed something so small to grow into something much bigger.
Questions:
God, thank You for making land, trees, and plants. Thank You that You made us with purpose too. Each of us will thank You for one plant or food we enjoy… [family shares]. Help us grow strong in Jesus, like branches connected to Him. Amen.

Week 1: God Made The World! | DEVO 3
Big Idea: God Made Animals and Filled the Earth
Bible Reading — Genesis 1:14–25 (NKJV)
Devotional:
God made the sun, moon, and stars to shine in the sky and mark the seasons. Then He filled the seas with fish, the skies with birds, and the land with animals of every kind. From the tiniest ant to the tallest giraffe. God called them good, and He enjoyed the world He had made. Just as every animal has a role in creation, God made you with a special role too. Jesus reminded us of this when He said God even cares about sparrows (Matthew 10:29–31). If He cares for birds, how much more does He care for you!
Interactive Activity:
Play “animal charades.” Each person acts like an animal God made, and others guess. Celebrate God’s creativity in making so many unique creatures.
Questions:
God, thank You for making the sun, moon, stars, and all the animals. Thank You for making me special and caring for me even more than sparrows. Each of us will name an animal we think is amazing… [family shares]. We praise You for being such a creative God! Amen.

Week 2: God Made You One-Of-A-Kind! | DEVO 1
Big Idea: God made you one-of-a-kind.
Bible Reading — Genesis 1:26–27 (NKJV): 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Devotional:
Unlike animals, God made people “in His image.” That means we can think, love, create, and have a relationship with Him in ways no other creature can. You were made to reflect God’s goodness—like a mirror showing His love to the world. Every person matters because they show something about who God is. Jesus showed us the perfect image of God (Colossians 1:15), and when we follow Him, we reflect His light even more!
Discussion Questions:
Give each person a small mirror (or use a phone camera). Let them look at themselves and say, “I am made in God’s image.”
Prayer (personalized):
“God, thank You for making us in Your image. Thank You that we are special to You and reflect who You are. Help us to show Your love to others. Amen.”

Week 2: God Made You One-Of-A-Kind! | DEVO 2
Big Idea: God breathed life into us.
Bible Reading — Genesis 2:7 (NKJV): 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Devotional:
God formed the first man, Adam, from the dust of the ground. But Adam didn’t come alive until God breathed His own breath into him. That means our life is a gift from God—every breath we take comes from Him! It also means we are deeply connected to God and meant to live with Him. Jesus later said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). God made you special, and He wants you to enjoy the full life He gives through Jesus.
Discussion Questions:
Take a deep breath together. As you exhale, say, “Thank You, God, for life!” Do this three times, slowly, as a reminder that every breath is from Him.
Prayer (personalized):
“God, thank You for giving us life and breath. Help us use our lives to love You and love others. Thank You for giving us new life in Jesus. Amen.”
Wrap-Up (interactive):
Say together: “God made me, and He gave me life!”

- Why do you think God made people with such care and closeness?
- How can we use our lives to honor the God who made us?

Week 2: God Made You One-Of-A-Kind! | DEVO 3
Big Idea: Each person is special.
Bible Reading — Genesis 1:28, 31 (NKJV): 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Devotional:
After God made people, He blessed them and gave them important responsibilities—caring for the world and filling it with families. When He looked at everything, He didn’t just say it was “good.” This time He said it was very good! That means people are the most special part of creation. God made you different from anyone else in the whole world—your talents, your smile, your story all matter to Him. Jesus showed us just how valuable we are when He gave His life to save us. That’s how much you’re worth to God.
Discussion Questions:
Go around the family and have each person say one special thing about someone else. Celebrate that God made everyone one-of-a-kind.
Prayer (personalized):
“God, thank You for making every person special. Thank You that You see us as very good and that Jesus showed how much we matter to You. Help us to love and value others the way You do. Amen.”
Wrap-Up (interactive):
Parent: “What did God make you to be?”

- What’s one thing that makes you unique from everyone else?
- Why do you think God called people “very good”?
- How should we treat others, knowing they’re made by God and special too?
Go around the family and have each person say one special thing about someone else. Celebrate that God made everyone one-of-a-kind.
Prayer (personalized):
“God, thank You for making every person special. Thank You that You see us as very good and that Jesus showed how much we matter to You. Help us to love and value others the way You do. Amen.”
Wrap-Up (interactive):
Parent: “What did God make you to be?”
KiDS: “One-of-a-kind!”
Week 3: God Wants Relationships With Us | DEVO 1
Big Idea: Sin Breaks Relationships
Bible Reading — Genesis 3:1–6 (NKJV): 1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.
Devotional:
Adam and Eve lived in a perfect garden with God, but the serpent tricked them into disobeying Him. They ate the fruit God had warned them not to eat, and sin entered the world. Sin is anything we do that goes against God, and it always hurts our relationship with Him. But here’s the good news—Jesus came to fix what sin broke so we can be close to God again!
Discussion Questions:
Give each child a piece of paper. Have them crumple it up (like sin crumples our hearts.) Then smooth it out again and draw a cross on it to show how Jesus makes us new.
Prayer (personalized):
“God, I know sin hurts my relationship with You. Thank You for sending Jesus to forgive me and bring me close to You again. Help me choose Your way. Amen.”

- Why do you think Adam and Eve listened to the serpent instead of God?
- What is sin, and how does it affect our relationship with God?
- How does Jesus make a way for us to be forgiven?

Week 3: God Wants Relationships With Us | DEVO 2
Big Idea: God Seeks Us When We Hide
Bible Reading — Genesis 3:7–9 (NKJV): 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. 8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
Devotional:
When Adam and Eve sinned, they felt shame and tried to hide from God. But God came looking for them, calling, “Where are you?” God didn’t give up on them, and He doesn’t give up on us either. Even when we make mistakes, God still wants to be close to us. Jesus shows us this truth—He came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10.)
Discussion Questions:
Play a quick game of hide-and-seek in the room. Afterward, talk about how God doesn’t give up on finding us.
Prayer (personalized):
“God, thank You that even when I hide, You come looking for me. Thank You for Jesus, who came to seek and save me. Help me run to You instead of away from You. Amen.”

Week 3: God Wants Relationships With Us | DEVO 3
Big Idea: God Covers Our Shame
Bible Reading — Genesis 3:21 (NKJV): 21 Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
Devotional:
Even though Adam and Eve sinned, God cared for them. He made clothes for them to cover their shame. This shows God’s heart—He still loved them and wanted to provide for them. This points to Jesus, who covers our sin completely by dying on the cross and giving us His righteousness. God doesn’t just cover our shame—He makes us new in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17!)
Discussion Questions:
Take a blanket and wrap it around each child like a hug. Say, “Just like this, God covers us with His love through Jesus.”
Prayer (personalized):
“God, thank You that even when I sin, You love me and forgive me. Thank You for covering my shame through Jesus. Help me live close to You every day. Amen.”
