Here you’ll find weekly family devotionals aligning with our Sunday lessons, a Spotify playlist to fill your home with truth, and other resources to encourage you along the way.
Parenting is better when we do it together, and at CB KiDS we’re with you—cheering you on as you raise KiDS who love and follow Jesus.
Faith at home starts now!
The Month of May
Big Truth:
God gives us boldness to tell others about Him.
Bible Passage – Acts 4:13, 31; 2 Timothy 1:7
13 Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.
31 And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.
7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
Week of May 24: Courage to Share
Discussion Questions:
- Toddlers/Preschool: How can we ask God to give us courage? (Prayer)
- Early Elementary: When is it hard to talk about Jesus? How can God help you?
- Preteens: Why does it take courage to share about our faith?
- Bonus Questions: Who is someone you know that doesn’t know Jesus? Who has shared Jesus’ love with you? What happens when we share Jesus’ love with others even if we’re nervous or scared?
Prayer:
"God, thank You that You do not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. Help us to be brave and speak about You with kindness and confidence. When we feel nervous, remind us that You are with us and will give us the words to say. Use us and our words to point others to You. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen."
Family Challenge of the Week:
This week, practice taking one bold step in sharing your faith. As a family, come up with one simple way to share Jesus with a friend. Each person chooses one “brave moment” to act on during the week. Pray for each other daily to have courage. At the end of the week, share: What was your bold step? How did God help you be brave? What happened when you shared?
Week of May 3rd: Jesus Sends His Disciples
Big Idea: The Great Commission for all believers
Passage: Matthew 28:18-20
Discussion Questions:
Prayer:
"Jesus, thank You for loving us and inviting us to be part of Your mission. Help our family to be bold and faithful in sharing the good news with others. Give us courage when we feel nervous and remind us that You are always with us. Show us who we can love, serve, and tell about You this week. In Your Name we pray, Amen."
Family Challenge of the Week:
As a family, choose one person in your life that you want to share Jesus’ love with this week. Practice talking about what you would say to share the gospel with them.
Example: “Did you know that Jesus loves you? He loves everyone! He loves us so much that He wants us to be with Him forever, so He died on the cross to forgive us of our sins. He wants us to follow Him and share His love with others!”
At the end of the week, talk together about what happened and how you saw God at work. Make a plan to follow up with that person and continue to encourage them to believe and be a disciple of Jesus.
Passage: Matthew 28:18-20
Discussion Questions:
- Toddlers/Preschool: What does Jesus want us to tell everyone?
- Early Elementary: Why is it important to tell others about Jesus?
- Preteens: How does knowing Jesus is “always with you” (v.20) give you courage to share about his love with those around you?
- Bonus Questions: What does it mean to be a disciple? Why does Jesus want disciples of all nations? Are you a disciple of Jesus? When we believe in Jesus, what do we do to become a disciple?

Week of May 10th: The Spirit Comes
Big Idea: The Spirit is our helper to do the Great Commission
Passage: Acts 2 (Pentecost)
Discussion Questions:
Prayer:
"Holy Spirit, thank You for coming to be our helper. Thank You for giving us courage, wisdom, and the words to share about Jesus. Help our family to listen to You, trust You, and follow where You lead. Give us boldness to live out our faith and to tell others the good news. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen."
Family Challenge of the Week:
Each morning, take some intentional time to say a quick prayer together: “Holy Spirit, show us how to love the people around us and share with them about Jesus today.” In the evenings, check in. Prayer:
"Holy Spirit, thank You for coming to be our helper. Thank You for giving us courage, wisdom, and the words to share about Jesus. Week of May 17th: The Gospel is for Everyone
Big Idea: God gives us boldness to tell others about Him.
Passage: Acts 4:13, 31; 2 Timothy 1:7

Family Challenge of the Week:
As a family, think about different kinds of people you see during the week (neighbors, classmates, store workers, teammates, etc.). Make a list of 2–3 people you don’t usually talk to or might overlook. Pray for them by name each day. Sometime this week, take one step toward them this week (say hello, show kindness, start a conversation, or invite them to church.)
At the end of the week, talk about how it felt to reach out and what God showed you about loving everyone.
